Who can access SIL support?

SIL is best suited for participants who have high support needs. This means you require a significant amount of help throughout the day. The amount of SIL funding you receive depends on the level and type of support you need to live independently, and what is considered reasonable and necessary for your needs. What’s the difference between SDA and SIL?

Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) is specifically designed housing for participants with complex care needs, while Supported Independent Living (SIL) is the onsite supports that provide assistance with daily tasks and help participants to develop independent living skills.

Some participants may be eligible for funding for both SDA and SIL, this will be funded separately in your plan to provide more flexibility with service providers.
